Are You Asking Yourself, RV now or wait?

Dive right in now?

The first question we asked ourselves when we started thinking about getting into RVing was do this now or wait? This is a huge question. It doesn’t just refer to buying an RV, it leads to many other questions. Do we have time to travel? Will we like doing this? Can we handle the responsibility of caring for this vehicle? Where will we keep it? How much will all of this cost us? There’s really a lot of thought that goes into this decision.

I think I’ll wait…

I will say that waiting does have it’s advantages. It gives you time to think long and hard about what you’re getting into. Renting is another way to help figure out if you’ll like RVing. I think that we should have tried that first, but hindsight is 20/20. If you are thinking about RVing, I would recommend renting. There are many sites that rent, and there may be some dealers in your area that keep a few rentals availible. There are websites like Outdoorsy, and RVShare that help bring together RV owners and renters, that may be a great option.

COVID happened!

For us, it was COVID that finally pushed us into the RV world. We love to travel but the thought of going to a hotel during COVID was just too much risk for us. Then we thought, hey! An RV would be perfect, we will have our own bed and bathroom wherever we go! This was just what we needed to get out of the house and get back to traveling.

What if?

Now we find ourselves sometimes wishing we had done this sooner, when our Son was younger so that we could have seen more of the country. So in the end I would say to you, why wait if you don’t have to? It doesn’t have to cost a fortune to start RVing. We saw so many RVs at the Hershey RV show, that I know that there’s something for every budget! There are also used RVs in good condition being sold online for less than $10,000.00 all of the time. I know that’s a lot for some, but if you can get on the road for a few thousand dollars, then why not? Make memories while you can, life goes by so fast!
